Physical therapy appointments may be scheduled at your earliest convenience. Patients receive a complimentary reminder phone call one day before an appointment. When you leave your appointment, you will receive thorough instructions for exercises you will be required to do when not in the office.
Occupational Physical Therapy
After Dr. Romano and his staff determines your needs, you will receive a prescription for the necessary amount of Physical Therapy. The frequency of visits depends on the individual patient and injury and the Physical Therapy staff will adjust your schedule based on your progress. If you cannot remember your take home instructions, please call our office at 708.848.4662 ext. 3129 and we will be happy to assist you.
Preoperative Physical Therapy –
Preoperative Physical Therapy provides patients with a better understanding about what to expect from surgery, at home recovery, and postoperative therapy. It can also accelerate your postoperative therapy while also making it less painful. When you schedule your surgery, the Patient Service Representatives will help you schedule preoperative therapy if necessary. Your physical therapist will ease your pain through the stretching and strengthening of your muscles. If you have full motion, no pain and good strength before surgery, your rehab after surgery will be easier and you will recover sooner.
